4 Sale by Member

Your ad will only be published if you are an EMU Credit Union member in good standing, and you complete and submit the appropriate form to our office.  The form requests the following information:

·         Your full name for membership verification. (Only first names will be posted.)

·         Your telephone number with area code or email address for interested parties to contact.

·         A description of the item that you, the member, are selling.  We request that you keep your ad listing to a maximum of 50 words.

·         We will only post ads for real merchandise available for sale.  We will not advertise businesses or requests for donations.

Important Information:

·         Ads are typically posted within 1 business day.  If your ad does not appear, contact us to see if more information or verification is required.

·         Your ad will be reviewed before it is listed.  EMU Credit Union will not post ads for items it deems inappropriate, including live animals or pets.

·         If your item is priced at $50.00 or more, you may submit a photo to be included with your ad.  EMU CU may resize any image submitted, but will try to preserve its integrity.  Photos must be submitted in an electronic format and will be scanned and previewed prior to posting.  Inappropriate pictures or images that cannot be fully scanned prior to posting will not be included.

·         The name and contact information for the item must be the same as the member who is submitting the ad. Your name must match our records as the primary or joint holder on an account in good standing.

·         EMU CU is unable to include external web links within your ad, and is not responsible for the content of any web site listed within members' ads.

·         Ads are posted for (30) days.

·         Please contact us when you sell your item so we may remove your ad.

·         The ads listed are submitted by credit union members.  The credit union cannot guarantee the value offered or received.

Bryce / brhansen@hughes.net	09/05/08	Danbury Mint Pooh resin house figurines.  These charming figurines are representations of the homes in the Hundred Acre Wood of the beloved characters of Winnie-the-Pooh.  There are houses for six characters in all: Pooh; Piglet; Tigger; Rabbit; Kanga & Roo and Owl.  These are very rare as a limited number were licensed by Disney and produced by Danbury Mint.  They are boxed in their original packaging, with certificates of authenticity, and are in mint condition from a smoke-free home.  Have seen asking price of $150.00 each for same items on Craigs List - will sell these for $75.00 each or $400.00 for all six.  Serious inquiries only please.

Tips for Safe Internet sales

·         We strongly recommend you do not accept personal checks as payment for your item.  To ensure you receive payment, we suggest you require cash or a money order for your sale.

·         If the purchaser is also an EMU CU member, we can facilitate transfers between your accounts, while preserving both your privacy and that of your buyer.

·         Never accept more funds for your item than the agreed upon sale price.  There are known scams in which an “overpayment” is sent, for which the seller is instructed to send a refund.  The original payment is typically fraudulent or invalid in some way.

·         If your item requires an individual meet you to take possession, such as furniture or a vehicle, you may wish to consider meeting them in a public place, rather than at your home.  If it is necessary for someone to come to your home, be certain that there is at least one other person at home with you and that you are cautious.

·         Do not post your address.  There may be times when an exception to this is warranted, such as the listing of real estate.

·         Do not give out personal information to the prospective buyer.

A healthy dose of caution will ensure your “4 Sale by Member” experience is both positive and lucrative.
